2-D Form Pattern Recognition TestPurpose:More AboutThis Test:RecommendedFor:High Scorers:Low Scorers:Number of Items:Time Limits:Validity:This test evaluates a candidate’s ability to think in terms of two dimensions and to seehow flat shapes fit together. It is appropriate for any job where the employee must be ableto conceptualize how parts fit together and it is often used in combination with the 3-DSpatial Reasoning Test.The 2-D Form Pattern Recognition Test should be used to assess appropriateness fordesign work where the individual must visualize how shapes and patterns fit togetherto form a whole (e.g., architectural drawings, equipment design) as well as for jobs thatrequire dismantling and re-assembly (e.g., machine setup, mechanical troubleshooting).We recommend using this test for positions such as: Maintenance technician, mechanic,machine designer, architect, draftsman, CAD technicians, pattern designers, tool and diemakers.People scoring high on the 2-D Form Pattern Recognition Test are better able to see howparts fit together, so they are quicker and more capable in accomplishing tasks.People scoring low on the 2-D Form Pattern Recognition Test may not be able to performthe same tasks as high scorers.
