Read and understand these instructions BEFORE attempting to install this product.Failure to follow installation instructions and not using the provided hardware maydamage the intake tube, throttle body and engine.The AEM intake system is a performance product that can be used safely during mildweather conditions. During harsh and inclement weather conditions, you must returnyour vehicle to stock OEM air box and intake tract configuration. Failure to follow theseinstructions will void your warranty.1. Preparing Vehiclea. Make sure vehicle is parked on level surface.b. Set parking brake.c. If engine has run in the past two hours, let it cool down.d. Disconnect negative battery terminal.e. Do not discard stock components after removal of the factory system.2. Removal of stock systema. Disconnect the breather hose from the air inlet tube.b. Remove the valve cover breather hose assembly.c. NOTE: The engine should be cool before performing this step so that HOT coolant is not releasedout of the engine. Be sure to capture any lost coolant in a clean container.Disconnect the water bypass hose from throttle body or the fast idle thermo valve, where equipped, located atthe lower portion of the throttle body. Disconnect the opposite side of the water bypass hose, which runs toeither the intake manifold or the water outlet neck. Remove the entire water bypass hose and breather hoseassembly from the vehicle.d. Remove the upper stock air box assembly.e. Raise the front of the vehicle with a jack. Refer to your owner’s manual for proper jack and jack standplacement to properly support vehicle. Support your vehicle using properly rated jack stands before wheelremoval or while working under the vehicle.NEVER WORK UNDER A VEHICLE WITHOUT USING JACK STANDS.i. Remove the lower front splashguard.ii. Remove the front left wheel and remove the inner fender liner.f. Remove the lower stock air box assembly.g. Loosen and remove the air inlet tube from the traction control throttle body.h. Remove the air box shield closest to the driver side of the vehicle.i. Remove the support bracket which holds the shield in place. 3. Installation of AEM intake system.a. When installing the intake system, do not completely tighten the hose clamps or mounting hardware untilinstructed to do so.b. Install the connector hose and two #48 hose clamps on the traction control throttle body end of the intakepipe. That is the end closest to the breather nipple.c. Install the intake pipe onto the traction control throttle body.d. The support tab on the inlet pipe will line up with a threaded hole on the inner fender well. Install the rubberisolator mount and attach the intake pipe bracket onto the rubber mount. Install the large fender washer andthe lock nut onto the isolator mount stud and snug it down.NOTE: Failure to install the rubber mount will void all warranties of the intake system. Below on thenext page is a diagram of how the rubber mount should be installed.3

e. Install the AEM air filter onto the end of the intake pipe. Push the air filter on around 2 inches over the intakepipe and install #52 hose clamp to secure the air filter onto the intake pipe. Once fitment is checked, you caneither push the air filter onto the intake pipe more or less depending on clearances.f. Install the 23” section of 1/2" breather hose onto the valve cover breather nipple. Then slide this onto thenipple on the lower portion of the intake pipe. Install two 1” hose clamps to secure the breather hose.NOTE: Some adjustment may be necessary in order for the breather hose to fit properly.g. Slide the other breather hose onto the nipple on the backside of the intake pipe.NOTE: Some adjustment may be necessary in order for the breather hose to fit properly.h. Connect the new supplied water bypass hose and clamps to the throttle body or the fast idle thermo valve,where equipped, and either the intake manifold or the water outlet neck disconnected earlier.NOTE: Some adjustment might be necessary in order for the breather hose to fit properly.i. Check the placement of the intake pipe for proper alignment. Ensure the intake pipe does not interfere withthe function of any other accessory or make contact with any components along its path.j. Tighten all remaining hose clamps and the nut on the rubber mount.4. Reassemble Vehiclea. Fender liner and Lower Front Splashguard: Install the fender liner, lower splashguard and any hardwarethat was removed in steps 2e i. and 2e ii.NOTE: Failure to install the fender liner will result in diminished performance and increase thepotential for engine damage due to water ingestion in rainy conditions.b. Wheel: Install the front left wheel using the factory torque specification (see owner’s manual).c. Position the inlet pipes for the best fitment. Be sure that the pipes or any other components do not contactany part of the vehicle. Tighten the rubber mount, all bolts, and hose clamps.d. Check for proper hood clearance. Re-adjust pipes if necessary and re-tighten them.e. Inspect the engine bay for any loose tools and check that all fasteners that were moved or removed areproperly tightened.f. Reconnect negative battery terminals and start engine. Let the vehicle idle for 3 minutes. AEM Air Intake System Warranty Policy AEM warrants that its intake systems will last for the life of your vehicle. AEM will not honor this warranty due tomechanical damage (i.e. improper installation or fitment), damage from misuse, accidents or flying debris. AEM willnot warrant its powder coating if the finish has been cleaned with a hydrocarbon-based solvent. The powdercoating should only be cleaned with a mild soap and water solution. Proof of purchase of both the vehicle and AEMintake system is required for redemption of a warranty claim.This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the AEM part. In no event shall this warranty exceed theoriginal purchase price of the AEM part nor shall AEM be responsible for special, incidental or consequentialdamages or cost incurred due to the failure of this product. Warranty claims to AEM must be transportation prepaidand accompanied with dated proof of purchase. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of product andis nontransferable. Improper use or installation, use for racing, accident, abuse, unauthorized repairs or alterationsvoids this warranty. AEM disclaims any liability for consequential damages due to breach of any written or impliedwarranty on all products manufactured by AEM. Warranty returns will only be accepted by AEM when accompaniedby a valid Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Credit for defective products will be issued pendinginspection.
