Locate the RoundedFaceplate (A) or theCornered Faceplate(B). (Figure B)DIN radio provision:1. Remove the metal DIN cage from youraftermarket radio.2. Slide the cage through the desired faceplateand then into the radio opening of thevehicle. Then bend the metal locking tabsdown to secure the cage in place. (Figure A)3. Locate the factory wiring harness in thedash. Metra recommends using the propermating adapter from Metra or AXXESS.Reconnect the negative battery terminal andtest the radio for proper operation.(Figure A)Continue to kit assembly(A)4. Dash DisassemblyAll vehicles1. Place your index fingers on theinner edges of the A/C vents andpush inward. (Figure A)2. Grasp the exposed lip of each ventopening “A” and pull out on theradio trim bezel. (Figure A)3. Remove the dash trim bezel(airbag wiring does NOT need to bedisconnected). (Figure A)4. Using Metra’s 86-5618 or AW-FDRT,pull the factory radio from the dashand disconnect the wiring.Continue to rear support removal“A”(Figure A)Kit AssemblyRear support removalTo remove the rear supportbracket from the dash cavityuse either of the following:Method (A)Remove (1) 7mm hex-headbolt securing the bottom ofthe bracket to the back wallof the sub-dash and (2) 7mmhex-head bolts securing thetop of the bracket to the insideedge of the sub-dash. Removethe bracket. (Figure A)Method (B)Remove (1) 7mm hex-headbolt securing the bottom of thebracket to the back wall of thesub-dash and cut the bracketflush with the top edge of theradio opening. Remove thebracket. Kit AssemblyINST-5000DIN radio provision with pocket1. Slide the DIN cageinto the radio housingand secure by bendingthe metal locking tabsoutward. Slide theaftermarket radio intothe cage until it snapsinto place. (Figure A)2. Locate the factorywiring harness inthe dash. Metrarecommends using theproper mating adapterfrom Metra or AXXESS.Re-connect the negativebattery terminal andtest the radio for properoperation.
