Depending on your beneficiary category, you,ll beeligible for different dental programs.ACTIVE DUTY DENTAL CARETRICARE Active Duty Dental ProgramThe ADDP is available in two geographic service areas: CONUS (Continental United States). The ADDP CONUSservice area includes the 50 United States, the District ofColumbia, and the U.S. territories of American Samoa,Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and theU.S. Virgin Islands. OCONUS (Outside the continental United States). TheADDP OCONUS service area includes all other countries,island masses, and territorial waters outside the ADDPCONUS service area.Most active duty service members (ADSMs) receive dental carefrom their military dental clinic, also known as dental treatmentfacility, or DTF. However, in certain circumstances an ADSMmay be eligible for civilian dental care. For example: The military dental clinic may refer an ADSM to a civiliandentist for care. An ADSM has a remote duty location and home more than50 miles from a military dental clinic.BENEFICIARY TYPESPROGRAM DESCRIPTION The Active Duty Dental Program (ADDP) provides certaineligible ADSMs coverage for civilian dental care. This isto ensure dental health and deployment readiness. UnitedConcordia Companies, Inc. (United Concordia) administersthe ADDP. This fact sheet is not all-inclusive. T R I C A R E D E N TA L O P T I O N SEligibilityCovered Services and CostsThe ADDP is available to ADSMs of the United States: Army,Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard,Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and AtmosphericAdministration, and (starting July 3, 2022) CommissionedCorps of the Public Health Service.For a list of covered services and costs, visit the ADDPwebsite at www.addp-ucci.com. Not all dental proceduresare covered under the ADDP. If you elect to receive non covered services, you’ll be responsible for payment.ADSMs enrolled in TRICARE Prime Remote or TRICAREPrime Remote Overseas are automatically eligible to use theADDP. National Guard and Reserve members are eligible onlyif they have active duty orders issued for a period of more than30 days for a federal preplanned mission or in support of acontingency operation. They must also show as eligible in theDefense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS).Service members with delayed-effective-date active dutyorders and those in the Transitional Assistance ManagementProgram following activation for a federal preplanned missionor in support of a contingency operation for more than 30 daysare also eligible. Those with a valid line of duty or notice ofeligibility determination for a dental illness or injury are alsoeligible. Certain foreign forces members in the ADDP CONUSservice area may be eligible based on a reciprocal healthcare agreement.For eligibility and benefit details, visit www.addp-ucci.com.Keep Your DEERS Information Up To Date!Eligibility for TRICARE is determined by the servicesand information is maintained in DEERS. It’simportant for sponsors to keep DEERS records upto date. You have several options for updating andverifying DEERS information:milConnect e1 Accessing CareIn CONUS locations, you must use a United Concordia networkdentist to receive ADDP-covered dental care. If a networkdentist isn’t available in your area, call United Concordia toverify lack-of-network availability and receive pre-authorizationto use a non-network dentist. If you use a non-network dentistwithout pre-authorization, you’ll be responsible for payment.In OCONUS locations, you can see any dentist, but it’srecommended that you contact United Concordia for assistancein making an appointment.In both CONUS and OCONUS locations, you must have anAppointment Control Number (ACN) from United Concordiabefore getting nonemergency care. In CONUS locations, youcan get an ACN on the ADDP website or call 1-866-984-2337.In OCONUS locations, it’s strongly recommended that youcall United Concordia to get an ACN and to schedule yourappointment. Remember to check if your dentist is in the networkbefore receiving care.Note: For orthodontic services, members in the OCONUSservice area need to obtain a Non -Availability and ReferralForm from their TRICARE Area Office, OCONUS uniformedservices military dental clinic, or designated OCONUS point ofcontact before any orthodontic treatment can begin.TDP CONUS Service AreaCostsTDP enrollees residing in the TDP CONUS service area (the50 United States, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico,and the U.S. Virgin Islands) can receive dental care at civiliandental offices and visit any licensed and authorized civiliandentist. However, receiving treatment from a dentist who is aUnited Concordia network dentist helps you save money ondental services. A network dentist has signed an agreement withUnited Concordia to follow TDP rules for providing care andaccepting payments. When using a network dentist, you won’thave to pay more than your cost-share for covered services.For a list of cost -shares, visit the TRICARE website atwww.tricare.mil/dentalcosts. If members visit non -networkdentists who charge more than the allowed fee, they may incuradditional expenses.Accessing CareDentists who haven’t signed an agreement with UnitedConcordia are considered non -network dentists. Non- networkdentists may bill beneficiaries their full fee. You’re responsiblefor paying the difference between United Concordia’s allowedfee and the amount charged by the non -network dentist, inaddition to the applicable cost -share. Also, non -network dentistsaren’t required to submit claims on your behalf.Premiums vary based on sponsor and member status.TDP premium amounts change annually each May 1. Visitwww.tricare.mil/dentalcosts for current premium rates.Additionally, for premium payments, please note: Initial payment: For the first month of coverage, your initialpayment can be made by credit card, check, or money order. Ongoing payments: Payroll allotment is required forongoing payment for enrollments associated with an ADSM.However, ongoing payments for enrollments associated witha National Guard or Reserve sponsor can be made with acredit card, electronic funds transfer (EFT), orpayroll allotment.TDP OCONUS Service AreaThe TDP OCONUS service area includes areas not in theCONUS service area and covered services provided aboarda ship or vessel outside the territorial waters of the CONUSservice area, regardless of the dentist’s office address. You mayvisit any OCONUS dentist to receive dental care. However,it may be more convenient to visit a TRICARE OCONUSPreferred Dentist (TOPD). TOPDs don’t require you to pay theirfull charge at the time of service and only require the applicablecost -share, if any. Once services are performed, TOPDscomplete and submit claims on your behalf.
