Master’s/EDS School Counseling Portfolio ChecklistThe portfolio will depict the school counseling student’s development in three domains: (a) Knowledge and Skills; (b) Practice related toSchool Counseling Programs encompassing psychoeducational intervention, counseling and consultation, guidance program developmentand management, and leadership in school/systems change; and (c) Personal and Professional Development). Each domain is describedbelow with the required artifacts listed. The portfolio should be presented to the committee in an electronic format. The artifacts will be initiallyprepared and evaluated in various courses, reviewed again during group supervision, and then presented for final review during the exitinterview. Students should allocate 1.5 hours for the exit interview. Refer to the Counselor Education Handbook for additional guidelinesregarding preparation for the exit interview.There are three types of artifacts:1. Artifacts associated with specific courses, or Signature Assignments, are evaluated by the course instructor. The assignment andgraded rubric are evidence that this standard was met in the course. These documents need to be converted to an electronic formatfor inclusion in the e-portfolio. The graded copy of the assignment with instructor feedback is required for the portfolio.2. Reflection papers and goal statements are required for each of the three domains (listed above) to provide (a) evidence of growth and(b) a plan for continued development. A “reflection of personal growth and development and goals for continued learning” in eachdomain must include the following to have successfully “met” this area:a. Reflection of growth across course of studyb. Identified strengths (evidenced by examples from the portfolio)c. Areas for continued growthd. Specific and measurable goals for addressing areas for continued growthe. Specific and measurable goals for continued development3. Evidence regarding the additional artifacts within the professional and personal development domain.Below are listed each domain and required artifacts and/or signature assignments for that area.
