Honor GuardWell the year has just finished and we have been very busy. The Honor Guard provided in excess of 100 funeral or memorial services for Post members or Polk County residents. These services were provided at various cemeteries or chapels throughout the county as well as the National cemeteriesat Bushnell and Sarasota. We utilized over 1000 people andtraveled more than 3100 miles. In addition, we held over 25 flag etiquette or colors presentations. The classes provided information on the proper way aflag is to be treated, displayed, and folded as well as a historylesson on the flags origins as our national symbol. We presented colors for a variety of organizations or groups such asSpecial Olympics, Pughsville annual celebration, 911 remembrance in Winter Haven and other military and civic organizations. All in all we had a very busy year and I would like to thank themembers of the Honor Guard for their dedication and willingness to provide these services.CommanderJohn Paye, Jr.1st Vice CommanderJohn Weems, Jr.AdjutantDaniel HeierFinance OfficerMike O’CallaghanChaplainBrian McDonaldFor God and Country,Sgt.
