IntroductionThis document provides the definition of an Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN) or DespatchAdvice Message, based on the EDIFACT DESADV D97A, to be used in Electronic Data Interchange(EDI) between a Trading Partner and a Faurecia Company. The ASN/Despatch Advice message isa message from a Supplier to the relevant Faurecia application. It gives information concerningmaterial despatched to a Faurecia location as instructed by a previously received DeliveryInstruction and in line with the conditions set out in the contract or order.Functional descriptionThe ASN/Despatch Advice message intends to: advise the recipient (Consignee) of the despatch of goods and to provide the detailsregarding the content of the consignment, including packages and handling units. allow the recipient (Consignee) to track material shipments and to prepare the physicalreceipt of the consignment.The ASN/Despatch Advice message must always include the transportation information (e.g.,weight, means of transport, etc.) related to the load advised.When the Despatch is made to meet the Delivery instructions given through a Manifest issued byFaurecia, then the MURN (Manifest Unique Reference Number, assigned by Faurecia) must beincluded in the ASN.It is mandatory that the ASN/Despatch Advice is sent immediately after the departure of thematerials.DESADV D97A V6R230/11/2018page3

Detailed information about PackagingThis section to bring clarifications in the area of Packaging, since this part of the despatch advicemay be complex.Definitions:Package A packaging in which the article itself is loaded.Handling Unit A device which can be handled physically (e.g. Pallet) and may carry one orseveral packages.Handling units can be differentiated:Simplified Handling UnitConsists of one package which is handling unit at the same time.Non Simplified Handling UnitConsists of one or more packages which are not handling units at the same time.Homogeneous Handling Unit: Consists of one unique article number.Mixed Handling Unit: Consists of more than one article number (also called Heterogeneous HU).Important note: Faurecia does not support multi-article packages,i.e. packages containing several different articles are not accepted.Structures and repetitions:DESADV D97A V6R230/11/2018page6
