Fʂɿʍʁ Sʎʇɽɺʒ ʈɿ EɺʌʍɾʋMɺʒ 2, 2021WOBURN CATHOLIC COLLABORATIVEFYIFrom Fr. PowersMay is a special month dedicated to Mary. The late Catholic sociologist and novelist Fr. Andrew Greeley observed that our Blessed Mother Maryremains a central “icon” of Catholic religious imaginaƟon. Other researchers point out that Mary remainshigh on the list of crucial and unifying symbols of Catholic idenƟty.Our Lady remains one of the most common images in Catholic culture. Marian devoƟon always embracesmore religious imagery than doctrine. The image of Mary as mother touches to the very heart of our ownhuman experiences of mothering or being mothered. Her story bonds our own powerful images of motherhood with the powerful grace of God.Lovely Lady Dressed in BlueLovely Lady dressed in blue ---Teach me how to pray!God was just your little boy,Tell me what to say!Did you lift Him up, sometimes,Gently on your knee?Did you sing to Him the wayMother does to me?Did you hold His hand at night?Did you ever tryTelling stories of the world?O! And did He cry?Do you really think He caresIf I tell Him thingsLittle things that happen? AndDo the Angels' wingsMake a noise? And can He hearMe if I speak low?Does He understand me now?Tell me ---- for you know?Lovely Lady dressed in blue ---Teach me how to pray!God was just your little boy,And you know the way.
