All Gender Restrooms All new buildings shall contain a minimum of one All Gender Restroom. Preferred if each floor contains a minimum of one All Gender Restroom. Note: City of Eugene recognizes fixtures in all gender restrooms serving 50% male and 50% female. All Gender Restroom Design Criteria.i. All Gender, Single-Occupant Restroom1. The intent is that the restroom can be accessed by a single person of any gender.2. Design Criteria:a. One-room facility equipped with a sink, toilet and optional urinal (partitions not necessary).b. Locking entry door.c. Feminine hygiene receptacle in addition to UO standard bathroom accessories.d. Changing table is desired.ii. All Gender, Single-Occupant ADA Restroom1.The intent is that the restroom can be accessed by a single person of any gender AND the room isaccessible per ADA guidelines.2. Design Criteria:a. Meets ADA wheelchair accessibility guidelines.b. One-room facility equipped with a sink, toilet and optional urinal (partitions not necessary).c. Locking entry door.d. All Gender, Multi-User ADA Restroom:1.The intent is that the restroom can be accessed by multiple people of any gender at the same time ANDthe room is accessible per ADA guidelines.2. Design Criteria:a. Meets ADA wheelchair accessibility guidelines.b. Multi-stall facility equipped with sinks and toilets (urinals optional).c. Maximum tile format 12 inch x 12 inch.iii. Prefer mottled finish. Mortar Grout to be used. No epoxy grout. Grout lines and tile must be sealed.b. Walls Glazed ceramic tile in large public restrooms.i. Minimum tile format 4 inch x 4 inch.ii. Maximum tile format 6 inch x 6 inch. Mortar Grout to be used. No epoxy grout. Grout lines and tile must be sealed. Wainscot to 4 ft above floor.c. Storage For toilet rooms without counters place stainless shelf adjacent to sink; large enough to place notebooks etc.i. Royce Rolls HDS12 shelf model is guideline. Counters with trash receptacles placed underneath;i. Must be accomplished without conflicting with wheelchair knee space.ii. Counter grommets shall be 8in diameter over waste receptacle. Provide coat hooks in various locations; including individual stalls and/or wall hooks.i. Bobrick B-7671 model is guide.2.2 Accessoriesa. Toilet Partitions: (CFCI) Solid plastic panels that contain color all the way through the panel allowing for sanding repair of scratches orother damage. NO particle board within panel construction. Partitions must have stainless hardware vs. chrome plated. Preferred model type: Bobrick style 1092 Sierra Brace panels floor to ceiling or floor mounted with overhead braces when possible.d. Some Accessories are to be OFCI. See Part 3 below for products.e. Install solid backing at all locations to receive toilet accessories.f. Do not mount dispensers on mirrorsg. Paper towel dispenser must be installed near sinks, and must be ADA compliant.h. Soap dispenser must be installed in such a way that the top can be easily opened for re-fill of soap.i. Waste receptacle location shall be planned and provided for.j. Toilet paper dispenser in restrooms with grab bars shall be mounted so the bottom of the dispenser is 6in above thegrab bar.k. Sanitary napkin receptacles are to be installed with the top of the device no more than 48in above floor, and withineasy reach of the toilet.l. Seat cover dispensers are to be installed with the dispensing slot no more than 48in above floor.
